Barry County Economic Development Alliance

What We Do (Our Mission)

Utilizing a progressive approach, the Barry County Economic Development Alliance will create an environment for the retention and expansion of business and industry in Barry County consistent with the preservation of a rural quality of life.

How We Do It (Through Collaboration)

As a public/private partnership, we bring together many resources including businesses, industry, municipalities, non-profit organizations, and others to accomplish our mission.  We work with local businesses and entrepreneurs to assist them in accomplishing their goals and achieve success.  We partner with communities to develop infrastructure and resources to enhance local readiness to meet the needs of existing businesses and new business development.

Why We Do It (Cultivate Community Vibrancy)

Economic development strategies cultivate growth, leadership and investment.  Economic development strategies help to create livable-wage jobs within the county, strengthen existing and new employers, increase the tax base, and provide expertise and resources for realizing our community vision of an economic engine in line with our rural landscape.

Connecting businesses to resources saves time, money and aids in growth.  By being a facilitator and caveat for business resources within Barry County we are able to connect local businesses with necessary resources from start-up to significant expansion.  By encouraging more targeted capital investment we in turn help to expand the tax base, which in turn creates a ripple effect to provide additional revenue for local municipal infrastructure improvements and critical services.

We provide a localized approach allowing for effective customization based on community needs.  BCEDA is able to react to local communities and help to connect resources based on specific needs and strategies for growth.
